Primal Art

Dunleavy is the first artist to successfully create an innovative movement called “Primal Art.” Inspired by the etchings of prehistoric man, Dunleavy uses elements of nature and pure pigments to create these distinctive fine art pieces, each piece is made from earth, soil, sand, leaves and twigs are used for the base with an acrylic adhesive applied to canvas or board. The colors are made of pure pigments, and painted with heavy washes while tilting the canvas on different angles for unique and distinctive appearance. A clear coat is applied to seal each piece for uv-protection. Pure pigments are the same medium the old masters like Michelangelo used in the 1400 & 1500. Dunleavy is a pioneer with his primal art style. No limited edition prints are available from these unique originals. Dunleavy paints animals from the Serenities, Seascapes, and Ocean Creatures to house pets in this unique style.
